SonarMies, the annual sonic intervention of Mies van der Rohe pavilion, will feature Dazwischen, a site-specific performance by Lucrecia Dalt. For this 2019 edition, the Colombian artist proposes a sonic, architectural and aesthetic investigation of the pavilion in which she takes ideas from the architect that were present during the construction of the building, such as spatial continuity or free floor structure. Dazwischen - a German term that unites in one concept the unexpected and the intermediate condition - appears as a response that adapts to the place thanks to the relationship between sound and architectural elements, questioning through the sonic experience the spatial limits of the pavilion. In this unique performance, the textual component and vocal deconstruction are also very important, turning the building into a speaking entity in which different voices converge: presential, delocalised and even literary, like the one of the Brazilian writer Clarice Lispector.
Collaborators of Dazwischen are Camille Mandoki, Sarah Winters and Jordi Salvado.
Curated by Sonia Fernández Pan and Lluís Nacenta.
