“Ayahuasca” is 13 minute immersive journey through one of the planet’s most mysterious spiritual practices. It’s a VR experience created by Jan Kounen and produced by AtlasV, A Bahn and Small Studios, which premiered worldwide last April at the 18th Tribeca Film Festival (New York)
Ayahuasca is a unique chance for a wide audience to approach a cultural and spiritual mystery. The participant is immersed in the visions triggered by this revered substance. Thanks to the piece’s extraordinary interactive processes, the viewer will experience the ceremony in a very actual way. The shaman will advise to maintain a neutral position to better receive the visions, while the motion sensors placed in the headsets, will allow the application to track the user’s movements and react accordingly. The visions will either shut up or light up, depending on the user’s posture. The agitation steers one away from visions, while calm and contemplation exhale the journey. The viewer will go through darkness and wonder until the final climax and denouement.
