Kickstarter will be back at Sonar+D this year to showcase some of the most innovative projects from music tech and design: from an instrument that lets you jam with robots, to a topographically-accurate lunar globe made with open source NASA data. On Kickstarter, product designers, makers, and hardware creators build their first early adopter communities around their inventions. Some of those projects come from influential creators like Oculus Rift or respected companies like Lomography. but most come from amazingly creative and totally unknown people from all over the world — from design students to basement startups.
Kickstarter, the world’s largest crowdfunding platform for creative projects, launched 10 years ago with a simple mission – to help bring creative projects to life. Since then, over $4.2 billion has been pledged by 16.1 million backers to fund 162,000 creative projects around the globe and counting.
