Mark Bain works in the fields of acoustics, architecture and actions of conceptual and experiential integration. A big part of his work investigates how sonic events condition the buildings and the bodies they occupy. Sculptural aspects of sound are also investigated in the way resonant materials can define structures in space.
His work has been shown internationally at the Boijmans Museum (Rotterdam), Platform Gallery (Istanbul), MACBA (Barcelona), List Art Center (Cambridge) or Schirn Kunsthalle (Frankfurt). Some of his pieces are part of the collections of the Georges Pompidou Centre (Paris), Porin Taidemuseo (Finland), and the MIT Museum in Cambridge (USA).
