
Open Music Initiative is a collaborative international endeavor to find an open-source standard for music metadata, which is currently very fragmented. Finding this metadata common language will allow to easily identify music’s authorship, get a fair compensation for artists and ensure transparency of the use of their intellectual.
Their three founders, Panos Panay, from Berklee Institute for Creative Entrepreneurship, Michael Hendrix, design innovation at IDEO and the tech entrepreneur, and MIT Media Lab member Marko Ahtisaari, will present this project and will be joined later on by Richie Hawtin, artist and entrepreneur; Christophe Waignier, director of strategy and resources at Sacem; Turo Pekari, Teosto's senior advisor in innovation and discovery and founder of Teosto Futures Lab, Jakué Lopez, VP of digital operations at BMAT, and Peter Harris, founder of the blockchain-based platform Resonate.
