Electronic music has been at the forefront of popular culture in the digital age. Creators of electronic music face unique challenges when it comes to being paid fairly for their creativity. While some dj’s success is built out of their live performance behind the decks, other’s build their careers on original compositions. Whatever route they take, more can be done to make it easier for electronic music artists to turn their creativity into a career by ensuring they are remunerated fairly.
This was the focus of a detailed study of the electronic music scene in France, commissioned by SACEM. In this session, Jean-Noël Tronc, CEO de SACEM, will talk about the results of the study and SACEM’s role to support creators of electronic music and ensure a diverse musical ecosystem.
