Installation piece developed as an offshoot of the experiential dance performance "border" produced in collaboration with ELEVENPLAY. The installation version takes an experimental approach to the initial piece and forgoes the human dancers, instead relying solely on an aggregation of sound and AR/VR technologies.
Viewers don a VR display headset which allows them to view the action from myriad angles facilitated by AR/VR. Due to the absence of dancers as an extrinsic physical subject, the piece allows viewers an enhanced experience of the discord between real vision/AR/VR from a first-person perspective. In this way, the piece is a clear exploration of media technology’s inherent potential and influence in the audiovisual realm.
