This workshop will cover what Decentralization is, and why it is an important thing for artists to think about. New technological alternatives are appearing that promise divergent and exciting possibilities for the distribution and creation of artwork.
It’s important that creators familiarize themselves with these developments as a means to build a sustainable practice and sustainable community models in future.
Through an informal discussion, participants will be introduced to some of the key principles behind the concept of decentralization and decentralized alternative services that are available to be used by artists today.
This session will be lead by the artists Lars Holdhus and Mat Dryhurst. Both of them are researching (and putting into practice) new ways to create, modify and distribute their work.
