Efraín Foglia and Roger Pueyo will show the process to build a citizen-based telematic network, using open technologic protocols. The workshop will be divided into two one-hour modules.
The first module, “weaving the network” will show participants a miniature city model, that will be used to explain how to mesh an urban zone with open telecommunication infrastructures. Additionally, they will show the neighbor organization model needed to get social scalability for the project.
The second module “configuring your own node” will be dedicated to show how to configure a node using wireless technology that could potentially be added to the guifi.net network. The participants will inter-connect their nodes to create a mesh network.
Efraín Foglia is an interactive systems designer and founding member of Guifi.net, Europe’s largest telecommunication network. Roger Pueyo is a telecommunications engineer and a very active member of the Guifi.net community.
