FreedomBox is a network of servers that link wirelessly with each other. These small boxes that connect to a power outlet, contain free software tools to host all our daily communications: email, chat, social networks, etc.
This project, created by Eben Moglen –professor at Columbia University and specialist in free software law– has various goals: protect the telecommunications privacy, act as a publishing platform that resists censorship, and serve as an emergency communication network in case of crisis.
In this workshop, given by Markus Sabadello, participants will learn how the FreedomBox works and the basic steps to install it.
Markus Sabadello is a pioneer in the field of digital identity and the founder of Danube, a company that develops tools for digital identity, privacy and security.
