This coming 11th and 12th October Sónar+D will be travelling to Seoul to take part in Startup:CON 2016. With a focus on artistic and creative startups, this years event takes place at the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary art in the Korean capital, and will feature conferences, workshops, performances, and demonstrations from a preselected shortlist of innovative companies working at the flashpoint of tech and creativity.
As part of the conference Sónar+D will be presenting various activities with an aim to exploring how technology can empower artists to be more creative.
David Cuartielles, the co-founder of the popular circuit building hardware Arduino will give a talk on the infinite possibilities of open-source innovation, and will also host two workshops. Also appearing at the conference will be Canadian artist Martin Messier with a presentation of his A/V show ‘Field‘; an engaging performance involving light, sound and movement that interprets and manipulates the earths inherrent electrical field. Finally Head of Marketing for Sónar+D Kike Nimo will be giving a talk on the influence of art on technological innovation.
With these activities Sónar+D will showcase its position as a hub for creativity technology and business and underlines its commitment to forging new links between these disciplines.
