Machine Love, a feature series on the electronic music and culture website Resident Advisor, gives an inside look into the studios of top producers. It’s a platform for artists to speak freely about the creative and technical processes behind their recordings. Realizing that more and more producers are doing incredible work outside of their studios, RA has taken Machine Love on the road, catching up with live performers on-stage at select festivals around the world. Machine Love Live falls somewhere between a live set, a production workshop and an artist interview, where festivalgoers can see, hear and understand how the most impressive live sets in electronic music come together.
This year, Machine Love Live at Sónar+D will feature Voices From The Lake, whose self-titled album was named best album of 2012 by RA itself. The duo of Italian producers Donato Dozzy and Giuseppe Tillieci (aka Neel) will explain how they work together in their studio and on stage, through a live demonstration and lecture moderated by RA’s tech editor Jordan Rothlein. Machine Love Live will complement their performance at SonarComplex as part of the Sónar by Day showcase of the prestigious Austrian label Editions Mego.
